Greases

Our greases are generally offered in grades of National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI 000 or NLGI 004).

HIGH SPEED GREASES

High-speed greases are formulated with special thickeners and oils allowing them to approach the functionality of oil while keeping the sealing properties required in this type of mechanism.

Applications

High-speed greases are particularly suitable for lubrication of equipment such as:

  • Ball bearings, needle bearings
  • Electric motors
  • Fans
  • Crusher screen bearings
  • Rotor bearings
  • Machine tools, drills
  • Robots, miniature motors
  • Spindles on textile machinery
  • etc…

Characteristics

High-speed greases show a special rheological behaviour: under shear, they become liquid and allow for lubrication close to that of an oil. On stopping, they return to their consistency and guarantee sealing.

These strongly thixotropic phenomena are provided by the thickener. Lithium greases with low soap or even more polyurea are the products most suited to these speed constraints.

  • Control of the manufacturing process to offer very thixotropic greases with low noise
  • Base oils with low viscosity (10 to 100 cSt) and often of synthetic origin (PAO, synthetic esters)
  • Use of friction modifiers and antioxidant combinations for minimal wear and optimised lifetime.

High-speed greases are generally offered in grades NLGI 2 or NLGI 1.

HIGH LOAD GREASES

These greases are specially adapted to resist impactsvibrations,  forces often encountered in heavy industry, to avoid excessive wear generated by a lubricant under degraded operating conditions. The action (chemical or physical) of the additives greatly limits seizure phenomena and thus avoids breakage of equipment.

A varied choice of thickeners but always with high viscosity base oils to effectively reinforce the lubricant film.

Combinations of EP additives and  dry lubricants (Graphite, PTFE, MoS2, other metallic oxides…) allow for very high levels of performance for all extreme applications.

Applications

High-load greases are particularly suitable for lubrication of equipment such as:

  • Spherical roller bearings
  • Cylindrical roller bearings
  • Open gears
  • Crusher screen bearings
  • Shredder rings and furnace crowns
  • Gear-teeth couplings
  • Spherical thrust roller bearings

Characteristics

High-load or Extreme Pressure (EP) greases have been developed mainly for heavy industry. Greases derived from these technologies are to be found in industries such as Transport/lifting and Civil works/Quarries.

  • Combinations of base oils with high to very high viscosity (up to 3000 cSt) to absorb impacts and vibrations,
  • Use of solid lubricants, diverse and varied, at low or high content (up to 30%),
  • Combinations of liquid additives providing a tribochemical action preserving the metallic surfaces under constraint.

Their Extreme Pressure (EP) properties exceed the thresholds defined by greases for traditional use. The results obtained in Four-ball EP tests are ≥ 315kg and for some ranges can reach values of >800kg.

Product benefits

The high-load greases show remarkable lubricity under these  extreme conditions. Thanks to a very resistant lubricating film, they avoid breakage of equipment caused by impacts and very high pressures applied locally to the bearings.

Characteristics Customer benefits
Lubrication maintained in contact zones
Protection of metallic parts = reduction in maintenance costs
Excellent mechanical stability
Sealing maintained = reduction in topping up and consumption of grease
Reduction in temperatures observed under high forces and vibrations
Functionality ensured under limiting conditions = improves your productivity

High-load greases are speciality greases. They are often coloured so as not to be confused with standard multi-purpose greases. The black greases contain graphite and/or molybdenum disulphide to reinforce their Extreme Pressure performance.

RUST CORROSION

Our range has been developed to provide effective protection of our customers’ parts and components. It is used for protection between operations or for a final anti-corrosion protection before dispatch or storage:

  • Medium-term protection against metal corrosion: 2 to 3 months.
  • Long-term protection against metal corrosion: 6 to 18 months, or longer.

It can be applied by spraying – micro-spraying, sprinkling, or immersion, leaving a protective anti-corrosion film that is waxy, oily, greasy and with high de-watering power.

Our rust preventive products can be used on all types of metal, ferrous, copper metals, galvanized steels and aluminum:

  • Water-repellent anti-corrosion oils: neat oils, vanishing oils, aerosols
  • Soluble anti-corrosion oils, water based

Our  offer reconciles anti-corrosion performance with protection of the environment and users.

GENERAL PURPOSE GREASES

Multi-purpose greases are called traditional or conventional greases. They are recommended everywhere when constraints remain “moderate”. Mostly offered in NLGI2 grade, the most versatile: The archetype being EP2 Grease. These are the greases with the best price/performance ratio and they have proved their worth over a long time.
Multi-purpose greases can contain solid lubricants to increase EP performance and can be coloured to limit errors in use.
They are available in all NLGI grades from 000 to grade. Their viscosity is generally in the range 100 cSt to 320 cSt but can be formulated from base oil of any viscosity (from 9 cSt to 1000 cSt).

HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASES

Evolution of equipment in the motor industry is leading to more stringent service conditions for lubricants. High-temperature greases are formulated to resist high temperatures superior to 130°C.
These greases allow a lubricant film to be preserved and provide the apparent viscosity needed for correct operation of your equipment, especially if it is subject to heavy loads generating heat.

FOOD GRADE GREASES

All these greases can be offered in grades NLGI 000 to NLGI 3. Viscosity at 40°C can vary according to the target application from less than 15 cSt to more than 1000 cSt.

We offers the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Certified , Halal Certified and Kosher Certified products.

SPECIFIC PURPOSE GREASES

Ranges of grease specially designed to meet the requirements of your activities.

Synthetic oil/grease

Range of synthetic greases, for temperature or length-of-service constraints that conventional greases cannot satisfy.

Synthetic greases are composed of more than 80% synthetic base oil which provides the lubrication.

Under extreme service conditions (very low temperatures of the order of -40°C or very high > 300°C), the use of synthetic base oils is necessary to reach performance levels that traditional greases based on mineral oils cannot attain. The synthetic base oils used are in particular:

  • PAO (PolyAlphaOlefin)
  • PIB (PolyIsoButene)
  • PAG (PolyAlkyleneGlycol)
  • PFPE (PerFluoroPolyEther)
  • PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene)
  • Silicones
  • Synthetic esters
  • These base oils are very resistant to oxidation and are notably used for lifetime greasing at standard temperatures. Synthetic greases represent a good number of speciality greases and are very often chosen for alternative maintenance solutions.

Applications

  • Bearings for electric motors
  • Micro-mechanisms, robots
  • Micro-electronic parts, connectors
  • Protection of glueing tables
  • Grooves and lips of sealing gaskets
  • Slides, rails
  • Cylindrical, conical roller bearings
  • Furnace rollers
  • Motor vehicle interiors

Characteristics

  • The thickener is determined by the service constraints excluding temperature: Lithium or Lithium Calcium, Lithium complex, Calcium Sulphonate, Polyurea, Bentone™, Polyamide, PTFE or fumed silica, all thickeners can be envisaged
  • Additives (liquid or solid) allow the specificity of the grease to be further refined
  • The base oil will express the choice of formulation to respond to the lubrication issue

The range of synthetic greases has the following characteristics:

  • very low pour point for operation at low temperature
  • exceptional resistance to oxidation for a very long lifetime
  • very high thermal stability avoiding decomposition at high temperatures
  • High viscosity index (VI) to maintain suitable viscosity whatever the temperature
  • good lubricating performance with or without additives

All these greases can be offered in grades NLGI 000 to NLGI 3. They all show very good stability with respect to oxidation and can be used over a wide range of temperatures.
